Andrew Lamb - Profile
Andrew has been a successful coach both individually and with representative and club teams. Andrew was a junior development coach at Kent Cricket Board in England and head coach of Sevenoaks Vine Cricket club in the Kent Premier League. He also was assistant coach and fast bowling Consultant for Hampstead Cricket Club and Middlesex Cricket Board. He then travelled to New Zealand where he took up a position as Head Coach of Cricket Wellington's Cricket Graduation Program, and Fast bowling coach for Cricket Wellington junior representative program. Since retiring from playing, Andrew has researched the role of coaching and fast bowling and is a Coach Development officer with Cricket Wellington and Fast Bowling Consultant with Cricket Wellington and Central Districts Cricket in New Zealand.
Andrew Lamb was called into the Wellington Firebirds squad at the start of the 2008/09 First-Class season as cover for Mark Gillespie, Iain O’Brien and Grant Elliott who were all unavailable on BLACKCAPS duty. He consequently made his debut in the season opener against the Canterbury Wizards and has been a mainstay of the squad ever since. Opening the bowling for the Firebirds in the first match of the 2010/11 season, Lamb took a career best 6 for 70 off 26 overs.
Andrew went on to play in the Plunkett Shield winning Central Districts team of 2012/2013 figuring prominently with the ball taking 21 wickets at 33.34.
He has previously played for Manly Warringah District Cricket Club in Sydney, Sevenoaks Vine CC and Hampstead CC in England, Kent and Middlesex League XI and Kent 2nd XI in the County 2nd XI competition.
